Product Description

In Content Brew, you’ll learn how to plan & create fresh content ideas for your blog, Facebook and Twitter. You’ll also learn ways to find content to share and tools to make doing all of this easier. At the end of this course, you’ll have anywhere from a month to a quarter’s worth of content planned out for your blog, Facebook page and Twitter (to a more-limited degree), not to mention a process that you’ll use over and over again.

Here’s what we’ll learn each lesson:

  • Lesson 1: Prepwork- Content Planning Questionnaire
  • Lesson 2: Getting to Know the Content Calendar
  • Lesson 3: Planning and Creating Blog Content Ideas (Part 1)
  • Lesson 4: Planning and Creating Blog Content Ideas (Part 2)
  • Lesson 5: Planning and Creating Content for Facebook and Twitter
  • Lesson 6: The Art of Using the Right Words to Drive Traffic
  • Lesson 7: Keep Fresh Content Brewing Using Evernote
  • Lesson 8: Finding and Keeping Track of Content to Share
  • Lesson 9 (Bonus): Easy Automation to Shelve Ideas and Articles for Content Planning

If you noticed, I didn’t say anything about writing content for blog posts. We stick to planning content using a calendar and learning how to both generate ideas and keep track of those ideas. However, we will write content for Facebook and Twitter.

A few awesome things that you’ll learn:

  • Exactly why you need a content calendar (hint: it won’t stifle your creativity nor your spontaneity)
  • How to customize a calendar for your blog
  • Why and how you should include social media in your content planning (we’ll stick with Facebook and Twitter for this course)
  • Eight questions to ask yourself for more effective content planning
  • What types of posts bring in the best traffic
  • Techniques for coming up with an endless supply of content ideas
  • 23 Content Generation Prompts for Facebook and Twitter
  • Attention-grabbing words and phrases to increase engagement
  • Tools to save you time and keep you organized
  • And more more more.

How to Know If This Course Is For You

Content Brew is for any level of blogger who wants to wants to nail down the process of using a content calendar AND learn techniques to come up with loads of ideas for blog posts, Facebook posts and tweets.

You’re ready to have a full arsenal of content for your blog, Facebook and Twitter page at your fingertips so you stop wasting time with the dreaded “I don’t know what to write about.” (or what to post on your Facebook page). I tell you, there’s nothing better than sitting down to write a blog post and already knowing what to write about because it’s on your calendar. Or getting ready for some social media interaction and already having a question ready to post. It’s like your brain already did most of the work ahead of time. Even if you have tons of ideas already but no time to write them, some of the techniques and handouts will help you save time so you can squeeze in some more writing into your life.

Content Brew is also a great alternative to those who can’t travel for blog conferences due to cost or time. Of course, if you go to blog conferences already well this will only deepen your knowledge even further.

The best part about this course is that it’s not just reading, video-watching and downloading pretty handouts. You’ll be DOING stuff. Planning content, learning techniques and getting loads of handouts that you’ll reference long after the course is over.

What You’ll Get

During the course, you’ll receive lots of goodies:

  • 2014-2015 content calendar template (spreadsheet format)
  • Nine written lessons, with each lesson having a video, handout or both
  • A total of six handouts which won’t be a regurgitation of the lessons but rather idea guides that’ll give you an endless flow of ideas (ex. 30 Fill in the Blank blog post ideas with examples for each one)
  • Interaction with other students in a private Facebook group
  • Interaction on Twitter with the #contentbrew hashtag
  • Forever access to the course!

What You Need to Take the Course

In order to take the course, you’ll need a few things (and none cost a dime!):

  • A blog or website (EASY!)
  • A program to open a spreadsheet (Google Drive, Excel, Numbers, OpenOffice)
  • Colored markers and paper (yes, you’ll go old-school for one assignment!)
  • A Facebook page and/or Twitter account (we’ll be planning content for these platforms)- you will need a Facebook personal profile to access the private group

How the Course Will Work

I KNOW it’s tough to be online at a certain time, which is why this course doesn’t require it. Once you purchase the course, you get access to ALL the lessons at once. Take two at a time or do one a week. It’s up to you! Each lesson has a homework assignment so you’ll actually accomplish something in this class too rather than just add to your to-do list.

Don’t worry about signing up and then life getting in the way. Remember you have access to this course for as long as I have this blog! (That means you have plenty of time!)

I have been blogging for over a year, and I always knew there was a more efficient way to blog. And now I know what it is. By day two of this course, I had every single blog post mapped out for the next three months. By day four of this course, my blog traffic had DOUBLED just by implementing a few of Melissa’s tips on Facebook.

I would pay SO MUCH MORE to take this course – it has changed everything about the way I blog. I’m not doing more, I’m just doing it smarter.

    THANK YOU!!

I know this may sound melodramatic, but the Content Brew course completely changed the entire way I blog. Instead of haphazardly throwing up posts and ignoring my editorial calendar, I am embracing organization! I am not an organized person by nature, so I needed this course desperately.

I think it’s especially helpful to take if you’ve been blogging for at least a few months to a year and are at the point where your brain is getting a bit crammed full of blogging tips and hints and tidbits. Melissa doesn’t just throw more ideas at you. She walks through how to implement all of the ideas she presents. It was cathartic, inspiring, and honestly, a little exhausting. Come to think of it, it was just like a mini blogging conference.

As a brand new blogger I had only a vague idea of how to blog. This class opened up new avenues for me that I didn’t even know existed. While other, more experienced bloggers can testify to how much better they are blogging, this class saved me years of trial and error. The class participation was amazing and everyone, from us newbies to the veterans, were accepting and helpful. I cannot recommend this class enough!

I don’t think it’s an understatement to say that Content Brew revolutionized the way I blog, tweet, facebook and interact with my readers. I had high expectations when I started the course because a friend referred me, but even those were blown out of the water. It. Was. Worth. Every. Penny!

Content Brew is made up of espresso, great blogging tools and creative ideas, a cup of social media goodness! I love that I was able to learn how to use new tools to make creating and keeping up with content easier. This course introduced me to some pretty cool applications and ways to be myself but still unique in creating and promoting my content. As a blogger sometimes I get stuck in a rut, but Melissa’s course is helping me see things in a different light. Between the videos, handouts, interactions with other “classmates” and homework, I now have a lot more tools in my belt and can in turn be a better, happier, and more organized blogger. Thanks Melissa!!

I was so excited when it was announced that she was going to offering this class because I have always had issues figuring out what to write about and I couldn’t figure out a way to organize my post ideas. Now that the class is over I have tons of topics and great system in place to keep track of ideas and keep me organized.

Melissa’s Content Brew Course is brilliant and well worth the time and money. I had a jam packed week when I took the course and still managed to fit in her well thought out, content rich lessons. I learned new things daily and found ways to implement something new into my work immediately. I felt refocused, energized and inspired through her teachings and really appreciated the “get to the point” approach she took when going over new programs and platforms that have brought a new efficiency and ease into my freelance/blogging life.

Additionally, I love that she took into account the varied learning styles we all have by incorporating video, handouts, spreadsheets, forum chats and general reading – she really thought of everything! I hope there will be multiple “brews”, because I would definitely purchase another cup!

Melissa’s Content Brew course just what I needed to break through my blogger’s block and revitalize my enthusiasm for writing. I’ve been blogging and writing online content for five years, yet I found so many useful nuggets in Content Brew. In fact, by day two, I had planned a killer once-a-week blog series that will last an entire year. (My first post in that series was pinned/repinned on Pinterest a few hundred times. Can anyone say traffic? Yes!) I added a new section to my blogging notebook with her gorgeous handouts that I’ll be referring to again and again. Content Brew taught me several uber-practical tips for social media that I am now using every day. Oh, and the content calendar? It’s amazing! Melissa not only teaches you how to use it but gives you a customizable form. I feel sort of guilty that I got all of this out of her course for just $(insert price here). I don’t even remember what I paid; that’s how WORTH it this course truly is. Thank you, Melissa!

Content Brew was by far the best online course I have paid for, and it was a steal for the enrollment fee. There is so much to learn and it’s broken down into easy to digest lessons. Plus, Melissa is available to answer questions and does so in a timely manner. I have been blogging since 2005, but I still learned SO much in this course – especially when it comes to getting interaction on Facebook and Twitter. I highly recommend this course for new and seasoned bloggers!

It would have taken me a month or more to figure out on my own what I learned this week – and that’s assuming I was already given the tools to use, half of which I’d never heard of! I believe this course is one of the best investments I’ve ever made in my blog (second only to switching from Blogger to WordPress).

Content Brew is one of the best {small} investments I’ve made in my blog and my brand. Melissa is a great teacher and I am thrilled that she has offered to share her expertise with others! She presents tactical information designed to make you more engaged, efficient, and productive. The first day alone is worth the price of admission. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to streamline their process and keep churning out quality content take her course. As I finish up, I’m yearning for more. I hope she puts together new courses soon. *hint*

Content Brew has totally changed my bloggy life! Before the class my content planning consisted of a few ideas in my head about what I wanted to post within the next few days. By the time I completed the class, I had well over 3 months of blog, facebook, and twitter content planned out with a great system in place to use going forward. I also learned a functional approach for keeping up with blog post ideas and drafts, so I can capture brilliant thoughts as they come to me instead of waiting until it’s time to post and the ideas have left my head.
I got so much out of the interaction with Melissa and other classmates in the Facebook group plus the interaction it made it all so much fun! Melissa was right there every step of the way and promptly answered every question and left lots of valuable feedback. I was sad when the class ended and so hope there a more classes on other topics in the future!

I highly recommend Content Brew for anyone trying to get their blogging life under control. I went from stressing out in front of a blank computer screen to having dozens of blog post ideas on paper. Her lessons were concise and easy to understand, without taking hours of your time. Content Brew is definitely the best thing I have done for my blog in a long time. THANKS MELISSA!!

The Content Brew course was exactly what I needed to really get my brain in gear. I’ve been blogging for almost 4 years, but have resisted any kind of “planning” advice–I’m an off the top of my head blogger! I don’t PLAN! Well, Melissa’s course really showed me how a *little* planning didn’t have to change how I actually blog and could help me in the long run. I got tips and tricks to manage the social media stuff that takes so much effort, and ideas for how to build my own content–my way, just smarter. All in all, Content Brew was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. A week of perfectly structured and timed courses that fit into my busy life, and gave me exactly the boost I needed to take things to the next level.

Content Brew is all java and no gritty grounds. A content percolator and perpetuator of cuppa joe metaphors. 7 days of awesomeness with Melissa. Handouts. Videos. In bite sized pieces. Perfect for anyone who has to work, parent, cut the grass, cook dinner or in general live a life. I’ve walked away with simple and practical tools. The kind you can use without a manual or a PhD. And there’s Apps, baby, apps! 3 uber slick make you want to cartwheel apps. They will change how you work. For reals. It’s gotten so much content swirling in my head I can’t even write a short and sweet testimonial. Thank you Melissa!

This workshop went above and beyond what I was expecting. The PDFs alone were worth the money. Melissa does an amazing job of breaking down what types of things you need to do to increase your social media presence. My favorite was one on creating interesting and enticing blog titles. I tried it out and saw results right away!! She is extremely helpful and professional, taking the time to answer all your questions. Besides the wonderful PDFs she share several tips, tricks and programs that will save you time and help you stay organized. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to create wonderful content and get a handle on their social media.

Content Brew was excellent! I almost signed up for the first course, but I wasn’t sure it would really be worth the price since I’ve been blogging for about 7 years. After hearing some blogging friends rave about it, I decided to give it a shot. Because these two blogging friends are people I highly respect, I had very high expectations for the course. Even so, Content Brew exceeded my expectations! Not only did the course help me learn ways to continually come up with fresh, new content, but it also taught me to use tools that will help me use my online time more effectively — and give me more time to spend with my family and enjoying life off-line.

Content Brew was everything it promised to be and so much more! I took the class hoping to leave with a month worth of content and left enough post ideas for the next 3 1/2 months- enough content to keep me typing blog posts until my fingers fall off. Not only did I get great tips on how to create content for my site, I also learned how to use some incredible tools to simplify the total blogging experience and save me time. This has been the best blogging course I’ve ever taken, well worth the money and time it took to complete.

This course was amazing and I learned so much more than I had expected (and I had expected quite a bit). Melissa is a brilliant tutor: very hands-on, very meticulous, very organised, always ready with help and encouragement. She combines warm motivation with challenging assignments and thoughts. An unexpected bonus were all the wonderful fellow bloggers with whom I interacted on Facebook and twitter: such a lot of generosity, encouragement and additional tips! The course made me think about my blogging in a completely new light, and I’ll be digesting all the things I learned and thought about over the next few weeks and months.

This class was worth every penny and then some!! I learned a ridiculous amount of stuff! There were so many great tools Melissa shared that I had never heard of and they rocked my world immediately. The content calendar spreadsheet alone is worth the $65 even if you do nothing else from the whole class.

I cannot thank Melissa enough for helping me become a more productive and successful blogger. I highly recommend this course, and would pay 3 times the price for it!
