DIY Blog Critique eBook Giveaway & More

While the DIY Blog Critique eBook isn’t even for sale yet, I’m giving away a few copies anyway!

Before I get to that though, two quick announcements about the eBook…

Launch Date

So when is this thing actually going on sale? Barring any technical disaster, it will go on sale Monday August 22. Does that still count as “mid-August” like I said in my announcement? *grin*

Special Discount for Mah Newsletter Peeps

As I announced last week, the eBook will be a low $14 for a little while. BUT, I’ve giving newsletter subscribers a little deal… it’ll be just $10 for a limited time (someone slap me- I sound like an infomercial). The newsletter only goes out once a month too so it won’t clog up your inbox. If you’d like to sign up, just enter your info in the form over in my sidebar. Just remember to check the newsletter option.

The Giveaway!

Based on the popular blog critiques here at Momcomm, the DIY Blog Critique eBook lays out 43 points to work through that will transform your blog into a big dose of awesome. It’s based on the checklist I go through when I do a blog critique (with tons of tips and details). It’s part checklist, part education, part resource book.

I’m giving away three copies before the launch! To enter, it’s easy peasy. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Leave a comment telling me why you want to DIY critique your blog.
OPTIONAL (Leave a comment for each of these)
  • Subscribe to my newsletter (just use the same email you do in your comment so I can match them up)
  • Tweet this giveaway out (look below- I made it easy for you!)

Giveaway ends at 11:59 pm on August 17. I’ll announce the winners on August 18 and they’ll get their copies a few days before they go on sale!

Thanks and good luck!

PSST… the Tweetbox isn’t working right now so just copy and paste it!

  1. says

I would love the e-book because well… I want to make sure my blog is the best it can be! :) Btw: I really liked your disclaimer!

  2. says

I’d love to win this book so I can learn how to better my site for my readers and also myself! My site is in desperate need of a makeover, this would be a great place for me to start in the learning process!

  3. says

I would love a copy of the book. I just started my blog about my son, who was recently diagnosed with autism, and really want to get the word out there. Autism Awareness is such an important cause to us, and I want my blog to reflect its importance.

  4. says

    I’d LOVE to win —

Why do I want to improve my blog? Same reason I want to improve other areas of my life … I’m always striving to be a better version of myself.

  5. says

I love your critiques! Since I started my blog a few months ago, I have followed your suggestions as much as my (somewhat) limited tech skills would allow. I would follow your DIY book like it were the Bible of Blogging. I honestly can’t wait to get my hands (or my computer) on it!

  6. says

I need the time/motivation to start improving my blog and blogging more regularly. I think the critique eBook might be just the kick in the pants I need!

  7. says

I’ll definitely get the book and would love to win a copy. I love the weekly critiques. I would want mine critiqued because of the exposure and good advice you always give. I haven’t spent a lot of time on my blog lately, and it’s more of a journal than anything else. Not really appealing.

  8. says

I would love to win because I know my blog needs serious help. I’ve been reading your critique series every week and compare the blogs to mine. Then I read your tips and try to incorporate the tips into my blog as well. The design doesn’t thrill me, and I’m constantly tweaking. The book would seriously help me with that.

  9. says

I could use some advice on keeping my blog content, diverse yet still focused on my niche. I also like to talk about current events from time to time, but don’t get much traction with them. I just wanna keep the conversation flowing!

  10. says

I’m always, always looking to up the ante and make my blog the best that it cane be. I’m passionate about my writing, and my blog serves as the foundation for it. So it needs to be as close to perfect as I can get it. I also do blog design, and I would love to have this as a reference to go by when designing for other clients. I want to give THEM my best as well!

  11. says

I am a brand new blogger (less than 2 weeks) and I would love to have this information early in my blogging time!! Exciting Giveaway!!!

  12. says

I’m middle-aged (my blog is 3 years old) and it’s probably time to have some work done. I’d love a guide to show me what’s what. Also, I’m surrounded by wordpressers and feeling the pressure to abandon my precious, yet persnickety Blogger. I’m hoping a self-critique can keep me where I am…

  13. says

i need to critique my blog because since moving it to WP, its a big ol mess and i dont know where to start with making changes because there is so much that needs to be done. i mean look at it…..its a mess!

  14. says

We just relaunched our website, moving from Joomla to WordPress. I LOVE our new site and would love to win a copy of The DIY Blog Critique simply as a playbook of what to keep in mind as I take over my site moving forward. I want to make sure that as it evolves, we get it right the first time and every time. Thanks so much Mel!!!

  15. says

I’m definitely interested. As I’ve told you so many times, your critiques are very interesting. There are a lot of things I’m considering in regards to my own blog and I think your critique would be useful in getting me there.

  16. says

This book looks awesome! And why would it be useful to me? B/c I’m not a blogging pro. Currently, I write for two blogs and I feel like I really need to get better at it! I also tweeted. Pick me! Pick me!

  17. says

I NEED that book. My blog is desperately ugly right now. I know the header is wrongโ€”it has nothing to do with anything and I’m pretty sure there’s a whole mess of stuff that needs to be fixed! Pretty please? Pick me?!

  18. says

I’m about to move my blog over to it’s own domain – and I want it to be awesome! I know this book can get me there. Ooh ooh pick me pick me!! :)

  19. Amber's Articles says

Your tips have been so helpful to me. Therefore, I have no doubt that having a book to walk through one step at a time will be even more helpful in re-doing my blog.

  20. says

And I need to DIY my own blog critique so that I can fix some things without someone else telling me what sucks about it, ha! :)

  21. says

Why do I want to want to DIY critique my blog? Because, frankly, try as I might to jazz it up and make it easy to follow and find content, it’s still sort of lame. I have two blogs and I can’t figure out how to combine them. I write about a lot of things so organization is a problem. I feel like I SHOULD be able to “do this’ myself, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I need help. Help! Thanks so much for offering this giveaway opportunity. I wish you much success with your book. And now, I’m off to tweet!

  22. says

…and I’m following you via RSS feed! Ready to be enlightened! Thanks so much for offering tips to help people like me succeed! Much appreciated!

  23. Bethany says

I would love to win because if your book is anything like your thorough, in depth, and informative critiques on here, I think any blog {or website} could benefit from a little tweaking and outside ideas!

Thanks for the chance to win!!

  24. says

Not only would I LOVE to win your fab e-book, I truly NEED this book. Everyweek I so enjoy reading the critiques and I have to change 42 out of your 43 items on the checklist! Thanks so much for this opportunity! :)

  25. says

I’d like this book because although I’m on your list to have a critique done, I’d like to have your checklist and apply it to my other blog. And well, it’ll break it down for me to do a little at a time.

  26. says

Um I need this book because I have a blog! I think it’s awesome to be able to follow a checklist of sorts to make sure you’re on the right track. My blog has wandered for over a year now. It’s time to settle it down a bit .)

  27. says

So exciting! I want to win! :)

I have a totally new look coming and I’m excited about it, but I want to see what your ebook would tell me about it!

I’m just always looking to improve my blog and would like to start earning some cash through it so I can work at home.

  29. says

  39. says

I would love a copy of the book. I just started my blog about how life get’s in my way… More of a rant of regarding my life and what I’m doing…

  40. says

Focusing on a task at hand is difficult for me. I need checklists to get the job done. Unfortunately with blogs, I have no idea on what the checklist should be so my blog has been in a state of semi-finished for quite awhile. I like your blog critiques a lot and so would love an opportunity to use your checklist while working on my blog :)

  41. says

I’d love to win a copy – I’m learning everything about blogging as fast as I can, and want to turn my site into a gateway for freelance opportunities. New house, momma needs money for the bills!

  47. says

I would love to win this e-book because my blog represents a new era in my life, a change of direction from a career that was stifling my creativity, to a career where I can really express myself. My blog is the foundation for that new start, and I want those foundations to be firm. Thanks for this chance to win. xx.

  48. says

I would love to win the book, too because I’m a new blogger, don’t know anything about technical or web design–that skill-set was before my time (managed people who made things look pretty and nice) and so new at blogging I that really don’t even have the funding to hire someone. It started on a whim.

  49. says

I would love to win this book because I’m just finally starting to get into the whole ‘momma blogger’ stuff. It’s really become a huge part of my every day life and I would LOVE to improve!
